Breakout Dance Competition delivers a fresh, cutting-edge experience rooted in creativity, individuality, and community. Now entering our 7th season, Breakout continues to produce high-quality, dancer-focused events, while creating a fair and memorable experience for all attendees.

Inclusive and Positive Environment: Breakout is committed to cultivating an environment where dancers of all levels feel encouraged, empowered, and have a positive event experience. We run fair, organized, and on-time events. We take pride in delivering an experience that minimizes stress, maximizes enjoyment, and allows attendees to enjoy these valuable moments. We provide an opportunity to experience life lessons through healthy competition in a constructive environment.
Recognition for Dancers in all levels: Breakout is proud to award cash prizes and OneBeat Dance Dollars in all three competition levels, and award the highest scoring group routine in each performance level for our overall Breakout Awards. Additionally, every solo and duo/trio entry will be awarded a medal with their adjudication.

Experienced and Well-Rounded Judging Panels: Our professional judging panel has extensive teaching and industry experience. They are professionals who understand the importance of each moment the dancers have on stage. Our judges are trained to provide uplifting, constructive feedback to further a dancer's education.
Single Staged Events: We place entry caps on our events, allowing us to produce single-stage events with reasonable start and end times. This allows for a more enjoyable competition weekend for all attendees.
Breakout Regionals
Our events provide an inclusive environment where all attendees enjoy a well-organized, fair, and exciting competition experience. All three levels of competition award both individual and studio awards, as well as Judges Choice awards. Scholarships are awarded for future OneBeat Dance events and additional events within our prestigious network of partners. Dancers receive constructive and encouraging critiques from our professionally trained judging panel to promote the dancers' growth and confidence. All events are live streamed, and dancers receive FREE unlimited digital access to their performance media. Every registered dancer will receive a free gift as our "thank you" for dancing with us!

Breakout Nationals
Breakout National Finals is an unforgettable experience for dancers and their families! Our National Finals feature masterclasses, our Celebrity Of The Year competition, theme day, a scavenger hunt, OneBeat Pin Trading and More! During our National Final week, we will have our Top Tier Challenge for Novice and Intermediate level dancers, and we finish the week with the Breakout Legends Challenges for Advanced level dancers, where the highest-scoring group routines return to compete for our coveted Breakout awards.

How is judging done at Breakout Dance Competition? At Breakout, routines are evaluated by a panel of experienced professionals who focus on technique, performance, choreography, and overall impression. All routines are scored out of 100 points. The judging process is designed to be fair and encouraging for all dancers. You can find more scoring information within Section 2 of our Rules and Regulations.

What are the Competition Levels at Breakout? Breakout offers 3 levels of competition: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Please view Section 2 of our Rules and Regulations for additional stipulations regarding level placement.

Are photos and videos free at Breakout? Of course they are! We are ecstatic to offer free photos and videos to all of our registered competitors.
Is Breakout Dance Competition a part of The Industry Dance Awards? Yes! Breakout Dance Competition is a proud sponsor of the Industry Dance Awards (IDA). At each of our Regional Competitions, we nominate select group routines to be in the running to represent us at IDA.
I received an Opening Number Invitation at another OneBeat Regional Event, can I use it at Breakout Nationals? Of course you can! Opening Number Invitations and Scholarships are cross-honored amongst our competition brands.
Is the Livestream password protected? No, the livestream does not require a password. Event streams will go "live" on the first day of the event. Please note: Livestream recordings are not saved and a playback option is currently unavailable.
What are the important registration deadlines? Registration for both Regional and National Finals opens on August 1st. For our regional competitions, registration will remain open 30 days before the event*. National Final registration will close 45 days before the event**Unless the event sells out prior to that date.
